Judith Weik – A Bear and a Doll

A bear and a doll.

Receivers of whispers, tears and hugs.

Keepers of secrets.

Endurers of snot, vomit and hot baths.

Sufferers of hair-loss, broken voice box and worn-out elastic.

Providers of unwavering emotional support until retired.

Condemned to wardrobes.

Packed and moved between countries and cities.

Shunned by the next generation.

Appreciated late in life.

Protected species.

Judith Weik is an artist. Her work is based on her lived experience, interpretations of roles and identities, and observations of everyday life. She uses memories, found things and personal objects to construct and create her images.
